CANUCKS ARMY GDT #80 – CANUCKS VS. KINGS

Not getting it done on Saturday forces the Canucks to make it right tonight. The LA Kings are in town, unless you’ve lived under a rock the past few days. But even if you had, you knew that before, so stop living under a rock! The wounds are still fresh after that epic playoff-like game two weeks ago and both teams desperately want the win this evening.
No doubt Tyler Toffoli will be public enemy number one after his blatant cheap shot on Alex Burrows last game. Derek Dorsett, Kevin Bieksa, or – the turtle whisperer himself – Jannik Hansen may exact some revenge if Burrows doesn’t. This one is a big 4 point game and some may talk about clinching after it’s over. They don’t get bigger than this.

LINEUPS

Eddie Lack plays yet another consecutive start and you have to think he’s a bit tired. Sadly, this game is too big to risk for Markstrom it seems. Looks like Ronalds Kenins is back in for Sven Baertschi. Toughness wins out today. We’ll see if it pays off.
Jonathan Quick will start and he has a hot kitchen so running him early may take him out of the game mentally. Where’s Chris Kreider when you need him.

HEAD TO HEAD

REASONS TO WATCH THIS GAME

  • Beating the Kings feels great, beating the Kings and putting them out of the playoffs? That feels even better.
  • Arguably the hottest Canuck since early March, Radim Vrbata…yes I know again, has 9 goals and 7 assists in his last 16 games. He is heating up at the right time. Hopefully the more games he plays, the better it gets.
  • Henrik Sedin is on the brink of 700 assists. All the games are at home until the end of the regular season so it sure would feel good to congratulate Hank when it happens. It’s safe to say he would like to get it out of the way so it might as well be against the Kings.
  • If the Canucks help knock the Kings out of the playoffs, no one has to hear that stupid Cartman all spring.

  • WE are all Canucks, your saying is just pathetic.
WHAT THEY’RE SAYING

MY TAKE

That last game was sure a barn burner; don’t expect this one to be as well. Expect this game to rise above that. Vancouver can’t afford to keep treading water; they either ARE a playoff team or they are not. Hopefully this game has the feeling of a game 7. I sure wish Kassian was playing this one. Canucks rise to the occasion and homer or not, the Canucks win this one in the third 4-3. #checkmate
