CANUCKS ARMY GDT# 77 – CANUCKS @ SHARKS

By Always90four
Mar 31, 2016, 15:00 EDTUpdated:

The Canucks and Sharks face off for the second time in three days in a battle of sea mammal logos. In an actual fight, the Orca should win as we don’t really know what type of shark San Jose is actually. Doubt it’s a great white but maybe a sand tiger shark? Kinda dangerous but mostly in aquariums. Anyways, the Canucks are probably going to drop another one bringing the total to TEN games!
Can Alex Burrows turn the trick again and snap the streak and fail attempt to break his composite stick? Time will tell. Bottom line, this team needs the season to end. The date we really are interested in is April 30; something about a draft lottery.

Jake Virtanen is serving a two-game suspension for elbowing Roman Polak; a game maybe but then again it’s the Canucks so we should be thankful it wasn’t the rest of the season. Will rookie Russian phenom Nikita Tryamkin be back (unknown hurts), Chris Tanev (sadness?), Luca Sbisa (pizza delivery gone bad) or Markus Granlund (wants to be Mikael)? I don’t know these answers but at some point today we will.
Ryan Miller is gonna start, he’s gonna start so hard. If only he had a bit of that goal scoring thing in front of him to make him the winning goalie for once. #InMillerWeTrust #Icreatedahashtagtotrendlater

Logan Couture is fresh off that first career hatty so he’s 100%. I predict Joel Ward will be back in the lineup and as for Joe Thornton’s beard? Peter Griffin would be proud.
James Reimer looked good (of course he did) so maybe we see the leader of the Autobots back in net.

REASONS TO WATCH THIS GAME
- I’m a believer in patterns; I just can’t believe the Canucks will keep losing. 10 games seem to be even too much for them. It won’t make sense for them to win tonight but that’s exactly why I think they will. How fitting would it be if Burrows was the repeat hero? It would make a for a great story.
- The 3-way deadlock for last place is heating up! The Sharks, well they could help the process along by making this game close but you know, not that close. I want a win but I also want to see this team turn around. Contradicting the first point is allowed. The Canucks used to do OK in San Jose but right now they wouldn’t do well at the Langley Events Centre. The argument for watching to excitingly lose is here as well.
- Chris Higgins is surprisingly back. He scored the lone Canucks goal last game and it was pretty darn impressive. Shorthanded to boot! Maybe Chris Higgins is the hero we need, the hero we deserve. If we look back, he’s still one of the best trade/signings in Canucks history. We need to celebrate him ABSolutely every chance we get.
- Listening to the 1040 yesterday and a horrifying stat was unearthed: Matt Bartkowski is the Canucks leading scorer on defense (OK Edler is but he’s out so next man up). This is bad, this is really, really bad. You wonder why they’re losing every game, why they’re at the bottom of the league? Matt Bartkowski is the beacon on defense. We fell in love with his bubbly mom and her interview and we’re here now. This is also the reason he’ll score tonight and everyone will shutter to think of the ridiculous contract Benning will offer him.
- You’re wife is playing Candy Crush, you hate Candy Crush, you still love the Canucks. SAY IT! Not a good enough reason? How bout Jannik Hansen getting goal number 20 and making our very own Jeff Paterson’s article look amazingly even more awesomer?
WHAT THEY’RE SAYING
I think those two names are pretty much interchangeable with anyone.
MY TAKE
You know I’m a straight shooter, I tell it like it is. The Canucks despite my comments will win 4-1. I don’t want to get all lovey dovey but quite frankly, I feel good about this.
WHAT’D I MISS?
Oh, Vancouver plays the Ducks on Friday? Ok I feel fine.
