CANUCKS ARMY GDT #77 – CANUCKS @ PREDATORS

By Always90four
Mar 31, 2015, 16:01 EDTUpdated:
So of course the Canucks beat the Blues last night – St. Louis is a playoff team! It wasn’t neccesarily a pretty one to watch but they came to play and Eddie Lack stood tall. On to Nashville this evening against, you guessed it, another playoff team. The Preds were sure happy the Canucks beat the Blues which helped keep the buffer 3 points above St. Louis.
The Canucks are gaining some ground of their own by keeping ahead of both the Flames and Kings with 93 points, 2 ahead of Calgary and 5 ahead of LA. Nashville has beaten the Canucks both times this season and with a pretty important game tonight, expect both teams to put on their army boots.

Might it be, could it…be? Jacob Markstrom starting? Eddie can’t play every game can he? Ha, yeah he can since we learned nothing last year. No other big changes expected.

Vezina hopeful Pekka Rinne starts, no surprises here. This team is ready for the post season, but Shea Weber and James Neal will sit out tonight.
HEAD TO HEAD

REASONS TO WATCH THIS GAME
- When the news came that the Canucks signed Weber, we had all forgotten there was another one. Yannick, however, has been gaining momentum lately and even though he isn’t Shea Weber, his shot sure is close. If VAN gets a PP this evening, watch him test out that boomer.
- Radim Vrbata is STILL scoring goals. Last night, yet another snipe by Vrby put him to 31 on the season and bumped him to top 10 in the league for goals. Well done sir! Time to bury another one.
- Uh ya, sweet right?
- Shawn Matthias scored against the Blues and so did Nick Bonino (his second straight game!) Rolling four lines at this point in the season is paying off for the Canucks and could bode well if it keeps going. Side note, last time they rolled four successfully? 2011?
- Henrik and Daniel haven’t been looking like their normal selves lately but considering they’ll have to play smart against the Preds, this game may work out well in the Sedins direction.
- Finally, this game screams RONALDS KENINS doesn’t it? Big hits, big players, big time game. That line needs a boost and the Latvian Locomotive is ready to train track someone.
WHAT THEY’RE SAYING
MY TAKE
Sure, the Canucks haven’t beat the Preds this year but who cares? If we went on what has happened, we wouldn’t have owned the Kings and should have beat the Blue Jackets…ok I’m not helping my self here. Another team that is ahead of the Canucks is all the more reason to set that bar higher. No time to look back now. If Markstrom starts, he deserves to finish so the goals will need to come early and often. Tight one, but Canucks win 5-4.
