The Canucks were so close to actually winning a game, a game they scored goals in and then inevitability happened. The loss came and the plane wheels went up and on to the Blues. It’s Friday night hockey and there has to be a stop to the madness, this MARCH MADNESS!!! That Nikita Tryamkin guy is really fitting in and we might just have ourselves something here. 
The Canucks and the Blues….and potentialy continued sadness. Tune in won’t you?

So let’s do straight talk right now – everyone is injured. Whoever is actually playing is just not injured enough to be out. Not a lot of positives right now but I liked Daniel Sedin and Jannik Hansen. Bo Horvat scored last game so he’s now on the top of the relevance chart.
Jacob Markstrom is expected to start. Maybe roll with a guy longer than one game at a time? I know it’s back to back but at some point, show some commit.

Kyle Brodziak took a personal day but is expected to play. Rumour is that he spent the whole day on his laptop and beat Jeffler to the last pair of Yeezy Boosts in tan. Would I admit that to my coach? Probably not. Jay Bouwmeester may play, he may not, it’s a mystery.

REASONS TO WATCH THIS GAME
  • You had the day off today and what better way to cap it off than with the team that has let you down all year? The Canucks FINALLY scored a goal, actually TWO and they almost won. But they lost. St. Louis might be the key to a victory and imagine if there were lots of goals. It’s possible, I have a dream.
  • Daniel Sedin scored yesterday and check this out, if he gets a point tonight he’s in the top 20! Remember when I brought up how he could have been in the top 10? Ya, that was soo long ago. Still, for THIS season and his age, major accomplishment. #lifegoals
  • Brian Elliott has the top SA% in the league as of RIGHT NOW!! The Canucks are really good at breaking streaks and the like so this seems like a good challenge. While we’re at it, how great would it be if he was lit up for 4 goals on 6 shots? His stats would not look good and the Canucks would succeed!
  • Your daily update of where the Canucks are in the standings – a Leafs win/Oilers win or both or whatever combined with a Canucks loss means ITS PARTY TIME!!!! LAST OVERALL!!! That’s why you watch this game, so you aren’t on the bandwagon when this thing blows up. You’re in it to win it.
  • Nikita Tryamkin has not scored and I feel like this needs to happen before this season ends. He has a pretty big shot and if it gets a bit more refined, we might have a lock back there.

MY TAKE
The Canucks finally win and snap the streak. It probably will not be very exciting and they may blow the lead a few times but somehow they pull it out of the trenches. Chris Higgins scores as does Matt Bartkowski. We’ll all share a few laughs and a win. Have a great long weekend!
