CANUCKS ARMY GDT #70 – CANUCKS VS. BLUE JACKETS

Lets just get this out of the way: this might be a trap game. The ‘Bus is coming off a win last night in Edmonton where the shootout decided it all, so they ended late and then had to travel to Vancouver. They’re pooped! As for the Canucks, they’ve won two straight against, well, the Leafs and Flyers. They still count and so help me if they lose this one. I mean, IT’S COLUMBUS!!! They are the sixth worst team in the league.
Aside from a setback (Editor’s note: a setback has happened since this writing. How fortuitous!), Zack Kassian should be in the lineup and then we all play “Who comes out of the lineup that isn’t Ronny Kenins?” Maybe Linden Vey will get injured or something, because Kenins seems to just luck out when someone comes back.

In case you’ve lived under a rock, Eddie Lack is your starter until well, probably forever. Ryan Miller is still weeks away from returning and may not play again this year. Zack Kassian had some back issues after the game day skate Tuesday. Its that time of year, so who knows about his return. Brad Richardson is also a game time decision.

Curtis McElhinney got the start last night in Edmonton, so Sergei Bobrovsky should play, but will it really matter?
HEAD TO HEAD

WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH THIS GAME
- The Canucks are winning, that alone is a good reason if you are actually a fan. Sure, its CBJ and they are awwwful but wouldn’t you like to see HOW awful they are?
- Alex Burrows was welcomed with open arms back to the Sedin line, twice, against the Flyers and before he scored those two he was flying. It was vintage Burr and that’s welcome any day.
- Maybe you skimmed over the lineups, easy mistake, Eddie Lack will basically be starting every game now. This season though, he’s earned that right. The Canucks team chef must make some crazy awesome tacos because Lack digs em. Go get em Eddie Machete!
- Its always a great time when Columbus rolls into town. With stars like
Rick NashSergei Federov,Gilbert BruleJeff CarterKevin Connauton and Ryan Johansen, how would you NOT get excited for this one? - All we can hope for is a bunch of Canucks goals by players that need goals. Henrik, Daniel, Burr, Kass, Kenins and after last game, I hope Shawn Matthias scores. That was rough wasn’t it?
- Ryan Miller thought he stole the show with the Eddie Lack goalie equipment? Step aside Clyde…topical, yes?

MY TAKE
On paper, this game doesn’t have a lot to get up for but see past the warts and ugliness and there will be 2 points up for grabs. A win by Vancouver and a Sharks loss to the Leafs (asking a lot here) would put the Canucks 10 points up on SJS (suck it, Mirtle!). This one won’t be pretty but these are the wins that show what you are made of. If the Canucks can beat the good teams, they better be able to whoop the bad ones. 5-2 Canucks is my prediction but honestly I’m terrible with those.
