CANUCKS ARMY GDT# 67 – CANUCKS VS. PREDATORS

By Always90four
Mar 12, 2016, 17:44 ESTUpdated:

It’s Saturday and the Canucks are playing. They welcome the surging Predators to the Rog aka Rogers Arena and the Canucks will truly have to stand on guard for thee to have a chance. Henrik Sedin is back and no one is happier than Daniel well maybe Jake Virtanen and his recent promotion to their line. Points are important for both teams; one needs em and the other is trying to give em away.
Let’s play some hockey

Henrik Sedin is back! The farce is over. Well, I mean, they’re still going to miss the post season but the right guys are in the right spots. Jake Virtanen will ride shotgun on the top line, Jannik Hansen and Chris Tanev are questionable. Nikita Tryamkin won’t play quite yet but soon, don’t you worry. With this season winding down and the playoffs a distant dream, the kids need to play, and not just the ones that are already here.
Ryan Miller should start.

Ryan Johansen is the top pivot now and with James Neal on the wing, they’re dangerous. Talent up and down the roster means the Canucks will have their hands full tonight. Former Kelowna Rockets captain Colton Sissons is in the lineup and it wouldn’t surprise me to see him get a goal in this one.
Pekka Rinne should start so maybe its a W already for Nashville?

REASONS TO WATCH THIS GAME
- A tale of two cities – the Preds are battling for the 5th spot in the West this evening while the Canucks might be ok with scoreboard watching to see if they’re a loss closer to that elusive first overall pick. Regardless, the kids getting more ice time is the #moralvictory in all this.
- Markus Granlund is slowly plugging away and he was rewarded with the GWOTG vs. the Yotes. Not a sexy option but the Canucks may go through a blue collar type team look soon and he might just fit in. Will he make it two straight games with a goal, watch and see.
- Ben Hutton is the new cool. 4 assists in the last 5 games is great, 3 PP points in that stretch is a bonus but getting the big boy minutes and realistically a spot on the top pairing in his rookie season is the main story. It doesn’t take much to build a case for Hutton but when you see him play, you’re happy he’s a Canuck.
- As stated above, Henrik Sedin is back and the cycle can be completed once again. Jake Virtanen looked pretty good on that line and will once again get a chance to get the corsi in his favour. Playing with the Sedins is like Christmas.
- Believe or not, it seems we’re all mad when they win these days. We all are paying attention still so this team can’t be that bad. If they manage to get that pick, I know I want to see how it all shakes out. Ya, it’s Nashville but something crazy’s bound to happen.
WHAT THEY’RE SAYING
Uh, how is this news? The bigger question is why do they not have Buffalo chicken in the states at Subway?
MY TAKE
I will always cheer for the Canucks to win, however, a loss would really keep this race to last place interesting. I don’t want a super good player going to Toronto. Maybe the Canucks lose a close one how bout?
