CANUCKS ARMY GDT# 66 – CANUCKS VS. DUCKS

With two days rest to soak in their most recent collapse at Rogers Arena, the Vancouver Canucks look to make amends as they play host to the resurgent Anaheim Ducks. The Canucks have been all out of sorts on home ice this season, so they’ll need to reverse that trend if they have any hope of entering the playoffs – wishful thinking though, if we’re being entirely honest.

LINE COMBOS
Emerson Etem makes his return to the Canucks lineup, reuniting with Alex Burrows and Linden Vey on one of the Canucks several third lines. Vancouver appears to have caught lightning in a bottle with Vey and Etem, so going back to that well makes sense for everyone involved. Otherwise it looks like a run of the mill Canucks lineup.

Your eyes aren’t deceiving you. That is, in fact, old 17 on the third line. Then again, how many third lines have Andrew Cogliano and Jakob Silfverberg on opposite flanks? On an entirely related note, it appears as though the Ducks are gearing up for a Stanley Cup run. Speaking of former Canucks doing well in SoCal, the Ducks have Mike Santorelli and Kevin Bieksa on their first line and pairing respectively.

REASONS TO WATCH THIS GAME
If you’re #TeamTank, this is the game for you. Heck, even if you’re #TeamPlayoffs, this is the game for you. The Canucks haven’t a hope in hell of beating the Ducks, but if they don’t, it spells almost certain doom for their playoff aspirations. It’s a win-win for the fans, really.
WHAT THEY’RE SAYING
Wouldn’t it be great if the Canucks could find a Hampus Lindholm at sixth overall? Dare to dream.
MY TAKE
This… This uh… This doesn’t look good. Let’s hope they keep it close and respectable at least.
WHAT’D I MISS?
Some damn fine work here. Not that I’d promote one article in another, or anything.
