CANUCKS ARMY GDT# 63 – CANUCKS @ COYOTES

By Always90four
Feb 10, 2016, 15:00 ESTUpdated:

The Canucks were issued an Avalanche warning yesterday and brought jet skis… no, arctic cats… I don’t get out much. Nucks won yesterday and the new usual suspects (Bo Horvat, Sven Baertschi, Luca Sbisa and Matt Bartkowski) were taking names. Moms trip part Deux is in Glendale tonight and might the kids have more in store for their opponents. Oh I can’t wait to find out! Neither can Matt Bartkowski’s mom.

Love, love, love that new Flying V line (Jake Virtanen, Bo HorVat, sVen Baertschi); it works for me and you. Bo sure does as well putting up a goal and assist yesterday. The injuries to Alex Edler (yikes!) and Brandon Sutter (c’mon again?) likely mean Alex Biega is back in and Jared McCann gets his spot back. I’m not saying this team is solving itself, I’m just saying.
Ryan Miller was said to be starting but Jacob Markstrom is all kinds of awesome too! Miller will start though because back to backs just go that way and people are human.

Waiting for Gaudet (Tyler) is over! Boyd Gordon is out with the upper body thing, Shane Doan is one point away from the all time Coyotes/Jets leader Dale Hawerchuk; so we all know what that means. Gaudet will probably get a goal because Canucks. The Canucks played a team that had lost 4 straight and beat them last night, same story this evening. Same result?
Louis Domingue should be the Yote’s starter. Cool name but is he cool enough for the win? No.

REASONS TO WATCH THIS GAME
- Bo Horvat? You da real MVP. With two points last night he’s forth in team scoring – yep that sophomore slump is nonexistent. Bo has 4G and 5A in his last 10 so you could say he’s feeling it. As NFL twitter would say “Have a day Bo”.
- The injuries to key center Brandon Sutter and defenseman Alex Edler no doubtedly hurt the team but as I said above, it’s like this team is figuring itself out on its own. Remember when Virtanen, McCann and Hutton all made the team back in October? Just seemed to work out then too. No one is talking about Frankie Muniz, errr. Corrado.
- Jacob Markstrom continues to make strides as the eventual heir to the throne, ok, until dream boat Thatcher Demko is ready; his recent 5-0-1 record is still the kind of number line we were hoping to get when Markstrom came over in the Luongo deal. Ryan Miller hasn’t been awful but there needs to be a time when Willie Desjardins youth movement involves his goaltender just a little more.
- Luca Sbisa was in on a 2 on 1. He got the assist, his team mates said he looked like Bobby Orr. Luca Sbisa is Bobby Orr. This is not a typo. We might be harboring the greatest defenseman, nay, player in NHL history.
- Dan Hamhuis may be one stellar game away from being traded. He’s a really good defender and he’s a homer but at some point you take emotion out of it and trade for Mark Messi….trade Hammer to a contender that could use him as a depth defender. Maybe Washington needs a savvy guy like Dan….ahem ahem Madison Bowey.
WHAT THEY’RE SAYING
MY TAKE
I was wrong yesterday and that’s ok. At some point, the Canucks season will start looking like a mini fire sale so a loss has to start that. We know the Canucks are a team of streak beaters and streak enders. Tonight the good folks of Glendale get to go home happy. Basically I’m saying the Canucks will not win both back to back games.
WHAT’D I MISS?
Oh, you thought I forgot?
