CANUCKS ARMY GDT# 60 – CANUCKS VS. BLUE JACKETS

By Always90four
Feb 4, 2016, 15:00 ESTUpdated:

The boys are back! I can’t even remember the last time they played but I DO remember it being in January. Not only are the Canucks back in action but Henrik Sedin and Dan Hamhuis are both returning to the lineup. The Navy Overcoats are coming off a severe pounding from the Edmonton Oilers (yes you read that correctly) and our boys could help add to the pain. Let’s begin the second half, shall we?

Hank the tank is back – no not me, but how great is it that we both have the same great nickname? and for the first time in awhile, the Canucks are healthy… weird, right? Hamhuis has been chewing solid food again for long enough the coach told him he can play. Jared McCann is out, Prust is officially a Comet and um, man, so much has happened in a week!
Ryan Miller is in net tonight and we have a defence that just might keep him in the win column.

David Savard, a defenceman – of no relation to Denis or Serge or Marc – I’m guessing will not play due to his abs not being as strong as Chris Higgins. Dalton Prout, mega fighter extraordinaire, might need a twirl of the gloves and if he does, Derek Dorsett is in for a bumpy ride.
Joonas Korpisalo (not Tommi Salo’s brother) should start. Hopefully, I don’t have to pronounce his name again.

REASONS TO WATCH THIS GAME
- Yessir, Henrik is back! No doubt Daniel and Jannik Hansen are excited. We should expect to see a boatload of points from this line tonight. I predict no less than six.
- The storyline continues with Hamhuis – his jaw has been rebuilt better than before and scientists have developed his AI to learn from mistakes. A healthy Hamhuis is a good Hamhuis IMO but a healthy lineup is just as good so we should see a solid game up and down the lineup.
- Vancouver is 2 points back of a playoff spot and most likely will be in that type of scenario every second night so winning now and winning often will go a long way. This season is far from done but that’s up to the team if they want it that way.
- Alex Biega is sporting a new 2 year deal and he wants to prove he belongs. If he has an ear with Benning then he might want to drop a few words for Hunter Shinkaruk and Andrey Pedan. I have a feeling they need to be here soon… that would also mean guys like Radim Vrbata and Alex Edler might be gone. But I digress. (did I say that right?)
- We can all talk about John Tortorella but that’s been played out. He’s a cool dude and I wish him the best; would love to have lunch with him. Anyone make that happen?
- I haven’t watched a meaningful hockey game in over a week; regardless of how the Canucks have played off and on, its still the Canucks and I gots me a fever. Bring me the cowbell!
WHAT THEY’RE SAYING
MY TAKE
The Canucks will beat a dummied Jackets team and get their second half off to a great start. The top two lines should feast on CBJ and that will mean Ryan Miller probably won’t be tested a bunch. Nucks… regulation… done.
WHAT’D I MISS?
Going down the stretch, the Canucks will be sellers hopefully but it doesn’t mean they can’t buy a little too. I made a suggestion for Washington Capitals prospect Madison Bowey for Radim Vrbata. Take a peek…agree…disagree….lets chat.
