LINE COMBOS
Quite a day yesterday! No Jannik Hansen, big trade (well kind of) and today we get to see our young star Jake Virtanen back in the lineup. Alex Burrows is back in familiar territory with the Sedins so there won’t be any problems there. As I have said before, Bo Horvat and Sven Baertschi are ready to take off and last game against Carolina wasn’t a fluke; we may see more tonight. Shame we won’t see Andrey Pedan, but maybe a freak um…flat tire??? will sideline Matt Bartkowski or something? Again, Virtanen is back and that’s great.
Jacob Markstrom is the main man still, Ryan Miller will back him up and is good to play if needed.

Future Toronto Maple Leaf, Steven Stamkos, potted a goal last night so his line is going. Valtteri Filppula is still in the lineup and has not been traded to the Canucks with Jonathan Drouin and HEY! Jason Garrison is still playing hockey. No surprises for Tampa
Andrei Vasilevskiy should start after Ben Bishop played the Oilers last night.

REASONS TO WATCH THIS GAME
- He isn’t our best player, maybe never will be; but after a social media onslaught against him, Virtanen will be back in the lineup and he’s ready to show why he deserves to be a Vancouver Canuck. It’s foolish to think he’ll score 3 goals, get in a fight and have a bunch of “murders” but he’ll be on display, look out!
- Tampa played last night in Edmonton and even though they won, Edmonton gave up three – count ’em, three – own goals. No doubt, after being in Edmonton they’re feeling disturbed and possibly ill so it would be in the Canucks best interest to take advantage of that.
- Bo Horvat… He’s finally been rewarded for his hard work and I don’t expect it to end tonight. His line has been hot and Baertschi will look to tag along for the ride as well. There will be speed in this game and that should play to their strength.
- If Daniel Sedin somehow gets a three point night, he’ll be tied for sixth overall in points. Not bad for a guy that’s 35 and “washed up”. With nothing holding him back now that his good looks have been tarnished, he may start playing in the dirty zones to get those extra points. He might just stick to the skill game… yeah, maybe he can stick to the skill game.
- You aren’t going to win the Powerball that should be $1 billion by the time puck drops. Just stay home, save your money and buy beer in Canada. You help our economy, a local business and you can laugh at all the shmucks that think winning a billion dollars just happens because you’re due. *holds powerball ticket closer than his own kids* “Yes…it’ll all be over soon and we can be together”
WHAT THEY’RE SAYING
I imagine many of you want to wish him well after this week…I’ll just leave this here.
MY TAKE
The Canucks are coming off a pretty fun win. The kids are starting to show up which is great and Jake Virtanen gets an opportunity to impress again. Tampa though… they good. Stamkos good, Victor Hedman good, weather there’s good. Im taking Tampa though because #tanknation. If the Bo/Bae line gets going thats what im looking for.
WHAT’D I MISS?
We got ANOTHER Medicine Hat Tiger in Emerson Etem. Maybe its not Willie’s love of them but in fact Trevor Linden’s. What else would make sense? Ya, Willie probably likes them too much.
