Aidan McDonough has captained the Northeastern Huskies to a Beanpot championship.
After being tied 2-2 at the end of regulation and a scoreless overtime, McDonough, the Northeastern captain, sealed the deal for his team in the shootout over Harvard:

Northeastern goaltender and Buffalo Sabres prospect Devon Levi made the final stop in round three of the shootout to secure the victory for Northeastern after McDonough scored the lone goal of the shootout.
This year was the 70th annual Beanpot, the tournament in which the four Boston college hockey powerhouses meet at TD Garden in a battle for the city&#8217;s bragging rights. It means a ton to these players to win this tournament, especially the ones that grew up in or around Boston. This marks the fourth time in five years that Northeastern has won the Beanpot.
Northeastern beat Boston University to advance to the final against Harvard, who beat Boston College in overtime to secure their spot in the championship game.

The biggest question for McDonough now is whether or not he will sign with the Vancouver Canucks or if he will go the route of becoming an unrestricted free agent on August 15th, at which point he will be free to sign with any club he pleases. The Canucks drafted McDonough in the seventh round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft with the 195th overall selection.
Through 28 games, McDonough put up 19 goals and 15 assists during the NCAA regular season. Levi was named Beanpot MVP after a 32-save performance in the final, and is the first goalie to win the award since Northeastern’s Cayden Primeau in 2019.
