Brock Boeser has started 2018 with being named the NHL Rookie of the Month for December.
Boeser was named the NHL rookie of the month for November as well.
It was quite the month for Boeser, putting up 8 goals and 5 assists in 13 games. He is currently tied for 4th in the entire NHL in goals with 21 and leads all rookies by 7 goals. He is also first amongst rookies with 38 points. It was also a nice month for him financially, as he earned a $212,500 schedule A bonus when he registered his 20th goal of the season.
We can always look back at December affectionally as Boesember – there was concern that when Bo Horvat and Sven Baertschi went down with injury that Boeser might struggle to put up points. But he has been just as effective and lethal. The line of Thomas Vanek, Sam Gagner, and Boeser have led the Canucks offence for the past little while and will be leaned upon as the Canucks hopefully return to full health.
Here’s hoping that Boeser can complete the natural hat trick of NHL rookie of the month and take the title again this month.
