- The veterans got it done for the Utica Comets this week but Mikey DiPietro continues to get it done in goal. In his first of two starts, DiPietro turned aside 36 of 37 shots for the 3-1 win over their North Division rivals, the Rochester Americans. The Comets are chasing the Americans for second place in the division and are now 2 points back heading into Sunday. In DiPietro’s second start he stopped 33 of 34 shots for a 2-1 victory over the Charlotte Checkers who are 4th in the Atlantic Division.

- Jake Kielly started the Comets’ third game of the week and showed strong only allowing 2 goals on 27 shots.
