CHL

- Jett Woo cooled off this week notching 1 assist in 3 games while registering 12 shots.
- Carson Focht had a big 2-goal game against Swift Current. He also added an assist against Brandon.
- Ethan Keppen was scoreless this week. Last week I was asked on Twitter about Keppen’s decline in offensive production. While I can’t give a concrete answer, I do know that he has been overtaken in the depth chart this season by a deeper Firebirds forward core. Last season, the Firebirds were terrible and Keppen was one of the few skilled forwards at their disposal. Someone has to score the points on bad teams and that ended up being him and Ty Dellandrea. This year, the Firebirds have more options and Keppen has dropped down the lineup. I haven’t watched enough Firebirds games to say for sure but from what I’ve watched, I haven’t seen Keppen improve much from last year, especially in terms of his skating.
- Arturs Silovs stopped 29 of 32 shots in a shootout loss to Niagra.
NCAA

- Tyler Madden didn’t find the scoresheet last night. Madden is up for the Hobey Baker award. Vote for him by following this link.
- Aidan McDonough had a primary assist last night giving him 19 points in 19 games.
- Will Lockwood and Michigan continue their hot streaks as the Wolverines are winners of four straight. Lockwood registered 3 primary assists and a goal.

- Jack Rathbone had 2 assists on January 17th, both on the power-play and both of the primary variety. Rathbone did not dress in Harvard’s game on Saturday due to an upper-body issue.
Russia

- Vasili Podkolzin suited up for 2 more KHL games this week and is still looking for his first point. On the bright side, he skated for a season-high in both games clocking in at 11:20 and 11:25 respectively.
- Nikita Tryamkin scored his second goal of the season this week.
Sweden

- Nils Hoglander had a quiet week without a point in 2 games.
- Arvid Costmar had a hat-trick in the SuperElit.
Re: Arvid Costmar There are few examples of D+1 players who spent most of the yr in SuperElit and went on to the NHL. But Costmar is producing quite favourably with those who did on a ppg rate Costmar 1.61 Hagelin 1.38 Engvall 1.34 Olofsson 1.2 Arvidssom 0.98
- Linus Karlsson was traded to BIK Karlskoga and notched 4 assists in his first 2 games.
Czech

- Karel Plasek just recorded his third assist as of writing this article. He’s playing back in the Czech Elite League.
Finland

- Petrus Palmu scored JYP’s lone goal this week in 2 games.
- Toni Utunen was held pointless.
AHL

- Lukas Jasek had his 10th and 11th goals of the year this week. The line of him, Justin Bailey, and Kole Lind has set the AHL on fire.
