This weekend is Thanksgiving weekend, and the weather in Vancouver is back to the usual rainy days.
That means hockey season is here. Although the NHL season doesn’t get started until Wednesday, there is plenty of hockey around the globe. The NCAA kicks off their regular season, the AHL plays through the exhibition season and the CHL is already on it’s way.
So although there may not be regular season play in the NHL this weekend, there is plenty to keep an eye on while enjoying some time with your family this weekend.
This year – I will strive to add as many gifs of prospects as possible, update on all the happenings and try to keep track of where Lukas Jasek is. So there is plenty to look forward to.

  • Brett McKenzie played two games this week for the North Bay Battalion; he was held pointless in one contest but posted one goal and two assists in their 7-4 win over Mississauga on Saturday night.
  • Tate Olson appeared in two games last week where he posted one assist. The Prince George Cougars remain undefeated in this young WHL season.
  • Cole Candella appeared in two contests this past week, where he posted one assist.
  • Guillaume Brisebois was assigned to his new QMJHL team, the Charlottetown Islanders on Sunday and appeared in their 9-2 win that same night. He scored one goal and had one assist.
  • Carl Neill of the Carl Neill’s appeared in two contests this past week – where he scored one goal, had 4 PIM and was +1
  • Jakub Stukel appeared in one game for the Hitmen of Calgary. He was held pointless and was -1.
  • Olli Juolevi was assigned to London (OHL).
  • Dmitry Zhukenov was also assigned back to junior yesterday after missing all of Young Strs and training camp with a foot injury.
  • Rodrigo Abols is in limbo a bit due to Portland Winterhawks import and overage issues – he has appeared in one game for them so far this season.

NCAA

  • Brock Boeser and the University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks played University of Manitoba last weekend – winning 5-1. Boeser scored one goal. UND enters the season as the number one ranked team in the NCAA in coaches polls.
  • Gaudette’s scored one goal in Northeastern’s 3-1 win over Acadia in exhibition action. He was also named the third star of the game. They begin their season this weekend against Quinnipiac
  • William Lockwood was held pointless in Michigan’s exhibition game against Windsor. He played on a line with Alex Kile and Jake Slaker. The Wolverines play Union College this weekend in their season opener.

  • Lukas Jasek remains with Frydek-Mistek in the Czech second tier league (WSM Liga). He appeared in two game this past week, where he posted three assists.
  • Anton Cederholm appeared in two games this week for Rogle AK in the SHL – he was held pointless.

AHL

  • The Utica Comets have yet to play a game,
  • Since last week, Michael Garteig, Thatcher Demko, Chad Billins, Alex Grenier, Michael Carcone, and Alexis D’Aoust have been assigned to the Comets.
  • Danny Moynihan has reportedly signed an AHL contract with the Utica Comets.
  • They play Syracuse in a home and home exhibition series this weekend.

    • ECHL

    • At this time, there is currently no Canucks prospects assigned to the Alaska Aces.
