  • Dmitry Zhukenov played two games this week – he had 3 assists, +2 & 3 SOG (Same as last week – Shoot more kid!)
  • Carl Neill  played two games this week – he ended the week with one assist, -2 and 7 SOG.
  • Tate Olson was held pointless in his only contest this week – he was -1 and had 2 PIM
  • Kyle Pettit played three games this week – he had 1 goal, was +3 and had 4 SOG
  • Guillaume Brisebois is currently injured – still unable to determine injury, hopefully it is not another concussion like he suffered earlier this season
  • Mackenze Stewart played two games this week – he ended with one goal. Since Tri-City did not make the playoffs, his WHL season is over. No word yet on him going to the ECHL or AHL.
  • In case you missed it, here is a primer for the Canucks prospects in the CHL playoffs.

  • Boeser played two games this past weekend – he had 3 assists. He won the NCHC Rookie of the Year and NCHC Three stars award on Thursday night. He is now on a 9 game point streak. North Dakota will face Northeastern in the Mid-West NCAA regionals.
  • Northeastern won the Hockey East Championship! Gaudette had a goal and an assist in the Semi-finals against Boston College, and then scored in the finals. As mentioned, Northeastern will face North Dakota on Friday in the Mid-West Semi-Finals.

  • Thatcher Demko and Boston College lost 5-4 in the Hockey East Semi-finals to Northeastern. Demko was very good, but just couldn’t seem to make the next save. He did make this beauty of a save:

  • Rodin was signed to a one year contract (for next season) by the Canucks this week. So he obviously won’t be back on Blackfish next year
  • Same could likely be said about Tryamkin – he likely won’t be making any more appearances here
  • Lukas Jasek played three playoff games for Trinec Junior team – he had 2 goals and 3 assists in 3 games. The best of five series against Mountfield HK U21 is tied at two games each with this deciding game tomorrow night.

  • Kellan Lain (now injured), William Wrenn, Evan Rankin, and Milos Bubela all signed PTO’s with the Comets this week.
  • Mike Zalewski, Jon Landry, Brandon Prust, Kellan Lain, Jon Negrin, Darren Archibald and Wacey Hamilton on the injured list.
  • Given the injured list – it is truly amazing that Curtis Valk, Ludwig Blomstrand or Even McEneny hasn’t at least been recalled to the AHL to get a ‘look’
  • As we all know, Andrey Pedan, Chris Higgins, Alexandre Grenier, Brendan Gaunce, Linden Vey, Yannick Weber and Alex Biega are up with the Canucks.
  • Twitterless Jeremy Davis is here with this week’s Utica Comet Weekly

    • Ludwig Blomstrand had two goals and two assists in three games this week – he had 9 SOG and was +3. He has now passed Dane Fox for leading scorer.
    • Curtis Valk had two goals and two assists in the three games this week for Kalamazoo – he had 9 SOG and was +5. He remains the only Wing to be above a PPG, yet still doesn’t get a recall to Utica.
    • Anton Cederholm was held pointless this week – he was +2, with 4 SOG and 6 PIM
    • Even McEneny had three assists over the three games this week.

    Schedule

For the NCAA prospects, they will need to win on Friday to play on Saturday – so one of Boeser or Gaudette will make the Mid-West Finals.
    Have a good weekend!
