Kyle Pettit | C | 20.001 | OHL | Erie | 42 | 7 | 9 | 16 | 0.38 | 10.0 | +11 | 8 | |||
Mackenze Stewart | LW | 20.163 | WHL | Tri-City | 10 | 0 | 2 | 2 | 0.20 | 4.4 | 9 | -1 |
- Carl Neill had a slow week by Carl Neill standards, with only 1 assist in 3 games. He finished the week +1 and with 10 SOG
- Dmitry Zhukenov played two games this week – chipping in with 2 assists, 4 PIM and +2 in Chicoutimi’s first game, although he was held off the scoresheet in their other game. Since the beginning of November, Zhukenov has points in 20 of the last 26 games.
- Tate Olson played two games this week and had points in both. He had one assist against the Vancouver Giants on the 16th, then followed that up with a goal and two assists against Kelowna on the 19th. He finished the week with 4 points (1-3-4), 4 PIM and -3.
- Kyle Pettit finished the week with one goal in two games. He also had 5 SOG and was -1.
- Guillaume Brisebois remains out of the Acadie-Bathurst Titans lineup with an injury.
- Mackenze Stewart played three games this week – he finished the week -1 with 5PIM, which was from a fight against Vancouver Giants forward Taylor Crunk.
NCAA
Name | Pos | Age | League | Team | GP | G | A | P | P/GP | NHLe | +/- | PIM | SOG | Sh% | SOG/GP |
Brock Boeser | RW | 18.329 | NCAA-NCHC | North Dakota | 22 | 15 | 10 | 25 | 1.14 | 38.2 | +22 | 0 | 75 | 20.0% | 3.41 |
Adam Gaudette | C | 19.104 | NCAA-HE | Northeastern | 23 | 5 | 9 | 14 | 0.61 | 18.5 | -5 | 0 | 52 | 9.6% | 2.26 |
Mike Williamson | D | 22.137 | NCAA-Big-10 | Penn State | 6 | 0 | 1 | 1 | 0.17 | 4.8 | -2 | 2 | 14 | 0.0% | 2.33 |
- Boeser scored a goal and an assist in both games this week against the University of Omaha. This extends his point streak to 12 games, and goal scoring streak to 7 games. Boeser was named the NCHC rookie of the week for the third week this season. If Boeser scores again tomorrow to extend his goal scoring streak, he will tie the 37-year-old University of North Dakota freshman goal scoring streak. He can obviously then break that record with another goal on Saturday. His goal from this past Saturday:
- Adam Gaudette played two games this week against New Hampshire – he had a total of one goal and 3 assists in the two games. Currently on a four-game point streak.
- Unfortunately, this week it was announced by Penn State that Mike Williamson would be retiring from hockey due to chronic injuries. No matter who it is, it’s sad to hear about a young man having to hang up his skates. I wish him all the best in whatever his future holds.

- Thatcher Demko returned action this past weekend to take on Boston University on Friday and Saturday. Boston College won the Friday night tilt 5-3, and then skated to a 1-1 draw. I saw some individuals tweeting that they were concerned about Demko’s durability – he played through major hip pain all last year, didn’t miss any time, had surgery and was able to return without missing any time. Suffers a reported concussion last week, and only misses one week. It’s fair to say that those concerns are unfounded.

- I went more in depth here – but Anton Rodin suffered a skate cut near his knee in practice on Tuesday. He had surgery later in the day and is expected to be out at least 8 weeks. Although he hasn’t been officially ruled out for the season, given that the SHL regular season ends on March 8, it’s safe to assume he is done for the regular season and MAY return for the post-season.
- Nikita Tryamkin still hasn’t played since leaving Avtomobilist’s game on January 9th. No word on the injury at this time.
- Lukas Jasek played one game this week, where he was held pointless.

- Hunter Shinkaruk and Alex Friesen led the Comets offence, while Cannata and Bachman held the fort admirably.
- Grenier and Ronalds Kenins are currently injured.
- Mike Zalewski was signed to a NHL contract, and then recalled by the Canucks. It was well deserved, Zalewski has been one of the most consistent Comets all year, bouncing throughout the lineup and playing well each time.
- Taylor Fedun was re-assigned by Vancouver to the Comets after two days and one game with the big club.
- The Comets re-assigned Curtis Valk to the ECHL and released Danny Syvret from his PTO. Defenceman Jon Landry was signed to a standard AHL contract.
- Linden Vey and Alex Biega are still up with the Canucks. Vey would now need to clear waivers to be re-assigned and Trevor Linden announced that Biega will remain in Vancouver for the remainder of the season.
- As always, here is Jeremy Davis’s in-depth look at the week that was for the Comets.

- Dane Fox put up 3 goals in 2 games this week for Kalamazoo. He finished the week +/- 0 with 15 SOG and 2 PIM. It’s becoming quite clear that Fox likes to shoot, a lot.
- Ludwig Blomstrand finished the week with 3 assists in 2 game. He also had 14 SOG, 2 PIM and was -2.
- Curtis Valk returned to the Wings lineup and put up 1 goal and 1 assist in their January 17th game.
- Anton Cederholm finished the week with 1 SOG and +1
- Even McEneny did not play a game this week as he remains on IR.

A lot happened this week in the Canucks prospects world; hopefully, the news is a little less crazy next week. So too I remain hopeful that the points will come in bunches too!
That’s it for this week!
