The NCAA Frozen Four kicks off today, with the final on Saturday. The Hobey Baker Award will be handed out tomorrow.
Only Kyle Pettit remains alive in the CHL, while Kalamazoo and Utica season’s are winding down.

  • All the stats above are their playoff points – excluding Stewart, who didn’t make the playoffs.
  • Dmitry Zhukenov and the Chicoutimi Sagueneens lost to Cape Breton in the first round 4 games to two. In the last week – Zhukenov had 2 goals in two games. He was -2 with 6 SOG.
  • The Carl Neill’s (Sherbrooke) were defeated by Shawinigan in 5 games – since last Thursday, Carl Neill had 1 goals, 4 PIM and was -1. He has been battling some sort of lower-body injury thus hasn’t signed an ATO with Utica. It may still happen, but I would guess his season is done.
  • Tate Olson did not play any games this week – as Prince George was eliminated. Trevor Linden already stated that Olson will not be getting an ATO with Utica, as they would like him to start training for next summer as soon as possible.
  • As expected Erie ran through Saginaw – Kyle Pettit finished the series with 3 goals and one assist. Erie will face Kitchener in the second round.
  • Since last Thursday – Brisebois posted one assist as Acadie Bathurst were eliminated in 5 games by Saint John. Same as Olson, Linden stated that Brisebois won’t be getting an ATO with Utica, which given that he was just injured a few weeks ago, isn’t a bad thing.
  • Mackenze Stewart is nowhere to be found.
