Blackfish: Canucks Army Weekly Prospect Report – April 14th, 2016
alt
Apr 14, 2016, 15:00 EDTUpdated:
The Canucks season is over and only a handful of prospects are left playing.
Brock Boeser and (new prospect) Troy Stecher are NCAA Champions!
Kyle Pettit continues his march to the OHL finals.
So there isn’t a lot in the Canucks prospect world, but you can find it all here in this week’s Blackfish!
TSN is broadcasting U18 games over the next two weeks, I highly recommend you watch them. GM Jim Benning does highly value international competitions and drafted a few players last year based on their performance at the U18.
So without further ado…

  • Brock Boeser won the NCAA Championship! He had two assists in the Semi-Final game against Denver, then ran rampant in the final with one goal and three assists against Quinnipiac. He finishes the season with points in 28 of his last 32 games.
  • No update on Gaudette.
  • As everyone knows, the Canucks signed Troy Stecher on Wednesday. Here is a good highlight video highlighting his high end hockey IQ, offensive instincts and skating:

  • Thatcher Demko and Boston College lost to Quinnipiac in the NCAA semi-finals – we wait to find out if he will return to Boston College for his senior year or turn pro. Tick tock.
