Welcome back to Betway Bets of the Day brought to you by NHL betting odds site Betway!
Last night, Bo Horvat returned to Vancouver, and what a hockey game it was. Lead changes, goal line stops, and an overtime thriller. In the end, the Canucks did what they’ve been doing all season long: win. Vancouver is now atop both the Pacific Division and the Western Conference.
Next up for Vancouver is a matchup with division rivals the Calgary Flames. Here are three bets I like for tonight’s game.
Player Prop
Lindholm has tallied over 2.5 shots in five of his last seven games and against a Vancouver team that’s in the bottom half of the league in shots against, I like this trend to continue. We will sprinkle .8 units on this play.
Player Prop
Filip Hronek to register a power-play point at +325. My $6.75 bet would return $21.92.
This one is an interesting play I have been mulling over all day and I will trust my process. Andrei Kuzemnko took a very hard shot to the face from JT Miller last night and is questionable for tonight’s game. If Kuzmenko doesn’t play, Hronek will likely be upgraded to PP1, where’s he been super successful this season. Every player on Vancouver’s number one PP unit is sitting at under +130 to score a point.
If Kuzemnko does play, you get Hronek, who has scored five power-play points in his last nine games to score with the second unit at +325 and if Kuzmenko doesn’t play, you get +150-like value on Hronek but instead at +325. This is a risky bet, so manage your units. We will risk .5.
Money-Line
Vancouver to win money-line at +125. My $10 bet would return $22.50.
Yes Vancouver is playing on the second night of a back-to-back, and yes they’re dealing with some injuries right now, but giving me the 12-3-1 Canucks at plus money against the 5-8-2 Flames is insane. Smash .8 units on this play and don’t think twice.
Last Game Bets
Vancouver to score on the power-play at -143. My $12.50 bet would return $21.25. – HIT
Quinn Hughes to register an assist at -167. My $12.50 bet would return $20. – HIT
Canucks to win money-line and Elias Pettersson to register a point at +110. My $10 bet would return $21. – HIT
A solid night for us, we staked $35 and returned $62.35. We are now up $140.12 (11.2 units) on the year.
