Welcome back to Betway Bets of the Day, brought to you by NHL betting odds site Betway!
The Vancouver Canucks simply did their job on Monday night, defeating the league-worst San Jose Sharks 3-1. Quinn Hughes scored two points to take the sole lead of the NHL’s scoring race ahead of teammates JT Miller and Elias Pettersson.
Next up for the Canucks is a matchup with the Colorado Avalanche, but more importantly, a Norris battle between Quinn Hughes and Cale Makar. Here are three bets I like for tonight’s game.
Player Prop
Makar is starting to seriously heat up, scoring nine points in his last three games. He’s also been lethal with the man advantage, scoring a power-play point in four straight games. I like this bet a lot against a below-average Canucks penalty kill, so I’m going to put .8 units on this.
Player Prop
Quinn Hughes to register an assist at -167. My $12.50 bet would return $20.
Hughes has been red hot all season long and has registered an assist in seven of his last eight games. I expect both Hughes and Makar to play with something to prove tonight, so we’re hammering a full unit here.
Pre-Built Bets
The Canucks to score a power-play goal at +105. My $10 bet would return $20.50
It’s gotten to the point where whenever you can get the Canucks’ power-play at plus money, you have to take it. Vancouver’s PP ranks third league-wide, eclipsing at a 31% rate. Take this play at .8 units.
Last Game Bets
Elias Pettersson to score a power-play point at -134. My $12.50 bet would return $21.87. – MISSED
Andrei Kuzmenko to score anytime at +187. My $10 bet would return $28.70. – MISSED
Canucks to win money-line and Elias Pettersson to register two points at +150. My $8 bet would return $20.- MISSED
This is the worst three-game stretch in my entire CanucksArmy career. Again, we were super close to an even night as Kuzmenko rang one off the bar. We staked $30.50 and returned $0. We are now up only $56.30 on the year.
It’s been a rough week. We’re waiting to start to get rolling again and will throw in some bonus bets in Friday’s edition.
