Welcome back to Betway Bets of the Day brought to you by NHL betting odds site Betway!
Vancouver concluded a quick two game homestand with another impressive win against the Edmonton Oilers. Edmonton came out firing early, taking an early 1-0 lead with a monstrous 19 shots midway through the first to only two by the Canucks. A lucky own goal by Vincent Desharnais gave the Canucks life and the team never looked back, cruising to a 6-2 victory.
Vancouver will embark on a three game eastern Canadian road trip starting in Ottawa. Here are three bets I like for tonight’s game.
Player Prop
I am frankly still shocked that Hughes’s shot line remains at 2.5. He has hit over that in nine of his last ten games. You know we’re going to keep riding with this. We’ll put a full unit on it and not think twice.
Player Prop
Tim Stutzle to register over 2.5 shots at -150. My $10 bet would return $16.66.
Stutzle has been the crown jewel of the 2020 draft and is enjoying another productive start to the 2023/2024 campaign. Stutzle averages exactly three shots a game which ranks second on the Sens behind only Brady Tkachuk. I like his shot line tonight against a Vancouver team that’s in the bottom half of the league in shots allowed. We will risk .8 units on this play.
Player Prop
Elias Pettersson to register a power-play point at +105. My $10 bet would return $20.50.
Just looking at the numbers here, Vancouver has the fourth best power-play in the league and Ottawa ranks 22nd on the penalty kill. Pettersson ranks sixth in the NHL this season with nine power-play points in 12 games. We will risk .8 units on this play.
Last Game Bets
Travis Konecny to score anytime at +140. My $10 bet would return $24. – MISSED
Steven Stamkos to register over 2.5 shots at -151. My $12.50 bet would return $20.95. – HIT
Not a great day for us. We staked $35 and returned only $20.95. We are now up $122.58 (9.8 units) on the year.
