Welcome back to Betway Bets of the Day, brought to you by NHL betting odds site Betway!
The Canucks got the best of the Kraken in the tenth edition of the I5alry, improving their record to 7-3 all time against Seattle with a dominant wire-to-wire 5-1 victory at Climate Pledge Arena. Vancouver’s bottom six continued its strong play, scoring four of the Canucks’ five goals.
Next up for Vancouver is a visit back to the SAP Center in San Jose, where the Canucks trounced the Sharks 10-1 in their last visit. Here are three bets I like for tonight’s game.
Pre-Built Bets
Vancouver’s power-play has struggled in recent times, failing to score in the past three games, but the Sharks may just be what the doctor ordered for them. The Canucks are 4-8 against San Jose on the power-play this season, eclipsing at an impressive 50% rate.
I like this trend to continue on Saturday night and will risk a full unit on this play.
Player Prop
Elias Pettersson to register over 2.5 shots at -138. My $10 bet would return $17.27.
This is one where we’re going against the grain. Pettersson has not looked close to his usual self recently, and he has hit his over 2.5 only once in his seven games. I expect that to change tonight against a San Jose team that gives up the most shots in the entire NHL. We will risk .8 units on this play.
Player Prop
Brock Boeser to score anytime at +130. My $10 bet would return $23.
Boeser has been all over the ice recently, barely missing grade-A scoring chances and is scoreless in his last five games. Boeser scored twice in his first appearance at the SAP Center this season, and I like him to pot another one tonight at .8 units.
Last Game Bets
Jared McCann to register over 2.5 shots at -134. My $10 bet would return $17.50 – MISSED
Fillip Hronek to register a power-play point at +300. My $6.75 bet would return $27. – MISSED
Canucks to win money-line at -115. My $10 bet would return $18.69. – HIT
Rahim Mostert to register over 59.5 rushing yards at -110. My $12.50 bet would return $24.08. – HIT
Good news is we finished football in the green and will definitely tackle that market more coming up, but our cold streak in hockey continues. We staked $39.75 and returned $42.77, we are now up $45.75 on the year.
