Welcome back to Betway Bets of the Day brought to you by NHL betting odds site Betway!
The Canucks’ bid for five straight wins went awry, as the team dropped a 2-1 shootout to the Minnesota Wild. Teddy Blueger scored the lone goal for the team as Vancouver’s third line featuring Garland, Blueger and Joshua continued to produce.
Next up for Vancouver is a matchup with Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks. Here are three bets I like for tonight’s game.
Player Prop
Pettersson was all over the ice on Saturday afternoon against Minnesota, registering seven shots for the Canucks. I like this spot for him against a Chicago team that’s bottom five in shots against. Put a full unit on this play.
Pre-Built Bets
Vancouver to score a power-play goal at -143. My $12.50 bet would return $21.25.
The Canucks were stymied on the power-play against the Wild, going 0-5 against the worst home penalty-kill in the NHL. Look for them to get their revenge here against the 25th-ranked PK in Chicago. This is another play where we will deploy a full unit on.
Player Prop
Connor Bedard to register over 2.5 shots at -175. My $12.50 bet would return $19.64.
Throughout Bedard’s come up as a WHL star, he let it be know he was a die hard Canucks fan. From calling Tyler Motte his favourite player to citing Kevin Bieksa’s iconic stanchion goal as his favourite hockey memory, the North Vancouver product has made his support for his home town team well known.
I expect the young generational talent to play with a purpose tonight and he has hit his over 2.5 in seven on his last nine games. This is my play of the day and we will also deploy a unit here.
Last Game Bets
Kirill Kaprizov to register under 3.5 shots at -125. My $10 would return $18. – HIT
Elias Pettersson to score anytime at +187. My $10 bet would return $28.75. – MISSED
Vancouver to win money-line at -105. My $12.50 bet would return $24.40 – MISSED
Liked my read here, Pettersson did everything but score and Vancouver lost in a shootout, we staked $32.50 and returned $18. We are now up $99.53 on the year.
