Jordan Schroeder has been putting up points recently. Will he carry on?
After their tough end to November, the Wolves really look to be righting the ship, having won 5 of their last 6 games. The coming week features 4 games, giving them an opportunity to make a real push upwards from their current 7th-place Western Conference position.

Weekly Wrap

A 4-2 Friday loss in Charlotte was followed by wins over Toronto (2-1) and Abbotsford (5-2). The loss in Charlotte was far closer than the score suggests, as the Wolves outshot the Checkers 36-31. The win over the Marlies was all about Eddie Lack. The Stork made 32 saves. Defeating the Heat was especially impressive as Abbotsford was seen as the hottest team in the AHL going in to the game.

Standouts

Mark Mancari has been a force all month and his return to the lineup following his 3 game stint with Vancouver was as powerful as ever. He banged in 2 goals and added an assist against the Heat. Jordan Schroeder has 4 points in 4 games and has taken 30 shots in the 10 games so far in December. He looks to be finding his groove.
Tim Miller continued his hot run, picking up 2 goals and 5 points in 3 games. Victor Oreskovich scored a pair of goals in the loss to the Checkers.

Lowlights

Anton Rodin hasn’t scored in 7 games. He has 10 shots in his 6 goalless games. Gotta shoot more, kid!
Mike Duco has just 1 goal in his last 13 games.

Lineup Notes

Nathan Longpre returned to the lineup, giving the Wolves three very solid lines.
Ryan Parent is joining the Canadian team at the Spengler Cup, which begins on Boxing Day and ends on New Year’s Eve.
No news on Nolan Baumgartner, Kevin Doell, who have both been out with concussions. Chris Tanev was run from behind during the Marlies game by Greg Scott. Scott was then challenged to a fight by the Wolves’ Antoine Roussel. During the fight, Roussel pulled Scott’s hair. Both players were suspended for one game as punishment for their actions; Roussel sat out Thursday’s game because of this suspension.
J P Testuwide and Adam Polasek are seeing occasional action, but are mostly healthy scratches of late. Mike Davies isn’t seeing much ice time either.
Matt Climie is still out injured. Charlie Effinger remains with the team as Eddie Lack’s backup.

The Hunting Ahead

A Boxing Day tilt in Peoria will be followed two days later in Milwaukee. The Wolves host Rockford a night later on the 29th before welcoming Charlotte on New Year’s Eve.
