Even though it seems like the hockey season started just yesterday, December is already just around the corner. The quickly approaching Christmas season means it’s time for an annual WHL holiday tradition: Teddy Bear Toss night!
The Vancouver Giants are holding their Teddy Bear Toss next Saturday, December 6th against the Saskatoon Blades, and Canucks Army wants you, yes you, to be there. So, We’re giving away four pairs of tickets to Vancouver Giants Teddy Bear Toss night on Saturday, December 6th!
Read past the jump for details on how to enter!
Teddy Bear Toss night is one of the most fun experiences I’ve ever had at a hockey game, and it’s a great tradition benefiting a great cause. All fans are encouraged to bring a new stuffed animal to the game, and toss it on the ice when the Giants score their first goal of the night. All teddies thrown on the ice will be collected and donated to the Vancouver Christmas Bureau for the holidays.
Alternatively, teddies can be purchased on the concourse at the game, with proceeds benefiting the Province Empty Stocking fund and the CKNW Orphans fund. Either way, it’s great fun to watch the teddies rain down, and it’ll help brighten a child’s Christmas. Here’s what the Teddy Bear Toss looked like last year:
To enter for your chance to win a pair of tickets to Giants Teddy Bear Toss night on December 6th, Tweet the name of your favourite Vancouver Giants player to never play in the NHL to either @CanucksArmy, or to myself @Thats_Offside. Be sure to include the hashtag #GiantsTeddyBearToss.
Alternatively, you can enter via email by sending your answer to thats.offside.hockey[at]gmail[dot]com with the subject line “Giants Teddy Bear Toss.” All submissions are due by Wednesday, December 3rd at 9:59 PM, and entered into a random draw. The winners of that draw will be notified by Thursday, December 4th at noon.
Even if you don’t win, I encourage everyone to come out and cheer on the Vancouver Giants, see some really promising young hockey players like Tyler Benson and Ryely McKinstry, and throw some stuffed animals around for charity. Tickets for the game can be purchased here. We hope to see you there!
