Hello again! Apologies for any fans of these little posts, as it’s been about a month now since I posted one of these complete Canucks schedules. Life factors have been weighing in heavily, and my return to post-secondary has been quite a bit more work than I figured it would be.
In any case, I’m sure you want less excuses and more prospects, so here you go:

Notes

  • The U.S. prospects are on an interesting schedule this week. First, there’s Adam Gaudette, who is playing three times, starting tonight. If you’re familiar with NCAA scheduling, you’ll know that it’s highly unusual for college hockey teams to play three times in one week, though it does happen from time to time. It’s been 10 days since Northeastern’s last game, so they’re probably all ready to get going.
  • Next we have Will Lockwood, who is playing just one game this week, and it isn’t even for keeps. His Michigan Wolverines will be taking on the USNTDP Under-18 squad on Saturday.
  • Finally, we come to Jack Rathbone. Big news this week, as the Dexter School boys hockey team is finally playing their first actual game of the season – on the third last day of November. We don’t entirely know what to make of Rathbone, other than that his name is awesome and he has some intriguing tools. He’s given off some Stecher-type vibes, as an undersized defenceman with good skating ability and a very cerebral approach to defending. It’ll be exciting to finally see him get going.
  • By the time you’re reading this, Elias Pettersson may have already finished up his game for today. Does he have three more points? You’d better hurry to the SHL website to find out! God, he’s just so perfect.
  • Kole Lind has missed the last handful of games with a bout of strep throat. I have no idea if he’ll be back in the lineup by the time the Rockets play on Wednesday, so we’ll just keep our fingers crossed that he will be.
I’ll try extra hard to make sure that another month doesn’t go by before I do another one of these. Until then, happy prospecting!
