Better late than never right? I usually try to have these ready to go for Monday, but nobody even told me that yesterday was Monday. As a result, you may not have been prepared yesterday when the Comets faced off at 10 in the morning, and Olli Juolevi and Cole Candella took to the ice last night. Please accept my apologies.
Anyways, here’s the complete Canucks schedule for the rest of the week.

Notes

European prospect Lukas Jasek is currently in the midst of a playoff series with his team, Frydek-Mistek of the WSM-Liga, Czechia’s second tier professional league. They played yesterday and have already finished their game today. The best-of-5 is now tied 2-2, with the rubber match going on Thursday.
Jasek has made his presence felt: he has a goal and two assists in the four games so far, but perhaps more noticeably he racked up 32 minutes in penalties yesterday – on a single play no less. The Czech translations are more funny than actually useful, and there are no highlights on goals from the WSM-Liga, let alone penalties, so we’re left wondering what he did to deserve the misconducts.

    Games to Watch

    • Wednesday, 10:00am PST: The Canucks are in 26th place overall in the NHL, and the team directly beneath them has five games in hand. That means it’s a good as time as any to check out this year’s top prospects! Jakob Stukel and the Calgary Hitmen host Nolan Patrick’s Brandon Wheat Kings tomorrow. Patrick’s teammates, draft eligible Stelio Mattheos and Canucks development camp invitee Ty Coulter, will also be present.
    • Friday, 4:00pm PST: Going into the season, Victoriaville winger Maxime Comtois looked like a potential top-five pick. Now, four months from the draft, he’s sliding down towards the end of the first round in the rankings. Some scouts still think that’s others are overreacting because his point totals aren’t where they were expected to be, but that he’s still a top-flight player. Judge for yourself when Dmitry Zhukenov and the Chicoutimi Sagueneens take on the Victoriaville Tigres on Friday.
    • Friday, 4:30pm PST: Still sore about the Canucks taking Olli Juolevi over Mikhail Sergachev at last year’s draft? On Friday night you can see the two stud blueliners go head-to-head as the London Knights host the Windsor Spitfires. London’s lineup also has top-two round draft eligibles Robert Thomas and Alex Formenton, while Windsor also boasts Gabriel Vilardi, a potential top-five pick, and Michael DiPietro, one of the draft’s best available goalies.
