What’s On Tap? The Complete Canucks Schedule February 13th – 19th

The Canucks schedule was delayed a day yesterday, being family day and all. I’m back at it today with a complete Canucks schedule for the remainder of the week.
The Canucks themselves have a busy schedule heading into their bye week. The Comets have their games spaced out this week for once, but they’re in the midst of a 10-games-in-16-nights schedule (which is why guys like Jordan Subban and Cole Cassels get healthy scratched, simmer down!). The NCAA players are also back in full swing. Read on to see the full schedule and a few games of interest between now and Sunday.

Games to Watch
- Tuesday, 7:00pm PST: In a rematch of a game played last night, the Spokane Chiefs will take on Tate Olson and the Prince George Cougars. One of Olson’s teammates, Nikita Popugayev, is a highly regarded winger in the upcoming draft. The 6-foot-5 Russian played at the Top Prospects game a couple of weeks ago, where his most notable contribution was a beautiful backhand saucer pass that sprung Nico Hischier on a breakaway.
Also impressing onlookers at that game was Kailer Yamamoto, the 5-foot-8 Spokane winger with a boatload of talent to make up for his diminutive size. Yamamoto was once thought to be able to challenge Patrick for the first overall position, but has fallen to the back half of the first round, mostly because his body has stubbornly refused to grow.
- Wednesday, 4:00pm PST: On Wednesday you can watch Vancouver’s top CHL prospect Olli Juolevi and his draft eligible teammates – Robert Thomas and Alex Formenton – as the London Knights take on the Erie Otters. The Otters’ top line is an utterly frightening combination featuring 2015 third overall pick Dylan Strome and Tampa Bay prospect Taylor Raddysh, flanked by Canucks development camp invite Kyle Maksimovich. Potential late-first round prospect Ivan Lodnia is also a player to watch on the Otters.
- Saturday, 4:00pm PST: Cole Candella’s Hamilton Bulldogs host the Ottawa 67’s on Sunday evening. The Bulldogs have their fair share of highly ranked prospects in Matthew Strome and Mackenzie Entwistle, while the 67’s draft eligible crew is highlighted by Russian import Alexander Chmelevski. Chmelevski has had some struggles of late in the OHL, but had a good showing at the Top Prospects game including a beautiful goal that he put up under the bar, showcasing his very quick release.
