The Vancouver Canucks are going to be without two defencemen for the next little while.
Kyle Burroughs has been placed on injured reserve, and Tucker Poolman has been moved to long-term injured reserve, the club announced Saturday morning.
Burroughs left last week’s game against Anaheim after being sent into the boards awkwardly by Ducks forward Nicolas Deslauriers on what was Burroughs’ second shift of the game.
Tucker Poolman’s injury is a bit more complicated.
Poolman left midway through the Canucks’ January 27th game vs. Winnipeg and did not return.
At first, the club described Poolman’s ailment as a non-COVID-related illness, but later revealed that he was dealing with headaches and migraines unrelated to COVID-19.
The club also recalled forward Phil Di Giuseppe last night ahead of their game against the New York Rangers on Sunday.
