The Canucks are Not Immortal!

overconfidence
We Canucks fans need to be humbled, and lets not wait until after game one of round two for it to happen. We swept a series, I know I saw it. We have to stay sharp, St. Louis was on fire ending the season, however, they were ice cold in the playoffs. Need I remind everyone that this team was one of worst in the west at Christmas.
The Blues were a young inexperienced team, they were sans Johnson, Brewer, and Kariya. They were clearly outmatched in the talent department. We have to remember the ambush of post’s St. Louis had, and one game went to OT. This series easily could have gone to six. Luck was on our side and I think the fans have turned luck into destiny or concentrated awesomeness.
Bear in mind, I do think this is the best team we have ever had. For once we are among the elite in the league. We also need to keep in mind that St. Louis had training wheels on in the playoffs. Detroit will not. Detroit is a fiery talented demon from hell and If we are over confident they will devour us. We might be able to capitalize on the youth of the Blackhawks or the stretched out reasorces of the Flames. I can assure you, that we will have to face the Wings at some point in what seems to be a  jaunt to the Stanley Cup.
If all the stars align and the Ducks blow through the Wings like they they steamrolled the Sharks (fair assumption), go out and invest in depends because 2 million greater vancouverites will be sh*tting their pants. We need to maintain the same attitude as the Canucks, they smeared the Blues all over the first round because they underestimate their opponents.
Don’t get me wrong we are contenders, we are strong contenders, but we need to take a Rocky IV approach, not a Rocky III approach to theses playoffs. We want to win on the first try, not have ourselves humbled by a more confident opponent.
