Saturday Mailbag: The Logjam

Before anybody asks, no, we didn’t change the day-slot for the Mailbag again. Rather, we had a lot of great work posted yesterday, so we decided to push everybody’s favourite question/answer session back. With that said, let’s hop right into your ponders!
@1stLineCentre asked: Is Brandon Sutter a positive Corsi Player with the Sedins?
So far, Sutter is 43.5% with Daniel, 36.1% away from him, and Daniel is 50.9% away from him.
With Henrik, Sutter is 47.1% with him, 30.2% without him, and Henrik is 52% away from him.
Early play hints that Sutter is dragging down the twins’ momentum on the ice. With that said, it’s a sample of under 75 minutes, so I wouldn’t draw any conclusions just yet.
@Bryan__Clegg asked: Jim Benning, Trevor Linden, Mike Gills, Brian Burke, Dave Nonis. Cage Match. Who wins?
Burke chokes everybody out with his tie as they all stare, distracted by his hair. Not even a question.
@Johny_Perogy asked: Did Sven Baertschi do anything against the Kings to warrant him being scratched? Do you still see him as a future top six forward?
Our good pal Jeremy Davis doesn’t believe so, and I tend to agree. The funnier thing? I think Desjardins probably agrees too, and the “league of doing, not league of trying” quote was probably just a statement for the public. Baertschi was likely pulled out to keep a “suitable” amount of veterans in the lineup while still giving Virtanen and McCann the ability to both draw into the lineup.
As for the second half of the question, I definitely see him having top six upside. Rather than go through a long winded response, though, I’d say check out the profile we did on him a few weeks back.
@MoneyPuck_ asked: Are Petbugs and money puck really Statler and Waldorf from The Muppet Show?
No. Statler and Waldorf, as you can see, were much more positive people than either of them.
