Less than 24 hours before the Vancouver Canucks get set to take on the Minnesota Wild in game three of their play in series, the Canucks got hit with some bad news.
Forward Micheal Ferland is leaving the Edmonton bubble due to an undisclosed injury, per Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman. TSN 1040’s Rick Dhaliwal added that he believes Ferland will be heading home to Manitoba, rather than back to Vancouver.
Ferland played just four shifts in game two against the Wild before departing with an injury. There were no moments that really stood out as being the cause for Ferland’s injury, although the broadcast mentioned that it may be due to a shot block.
Nonetheless, you can’t help but worry about Ferland’s future given his long history with concussions. The Canucks have yet to make an official statement on the matter or provide an injury update on Ferland.
More to come.
