Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson is dealing with the same wrist that he injured last year, according to Patrick Johnston of The Province.
Last season, Pettersson appeared in just 26 games with the Canucks before hyperextending his wrist in a game against the Winnipeg Jets, which ultimately ended his season.
Pettersson’s issue seems to be lingering a bit, as the 23-year-old forward shared that his wrist was taped up to start the new season, and now, the same wrist issue has sidelined him for the Canucks’ past two games.
He took regular line rushes yesterday and today, and will be a game-time decision for tonight’s tilt against the Detroit Red Wings, according to head coach Bruce Boudreau.
This obviously suggests that Pettersson’s injury this time around is not nearly as severe as it was last season.
More to come.
