How many more times are we going to hear Rick Tocchet say it’s his job to get through to his players?
How many more times are we going to have to hear Vancouver Canucks players say they’ve talked about their poor starts? Their repeated mistakes? Or about how their lack of intensity or ability to string periods or games together has been addressed?
How many more times are we going to ask when star players are going to step up and play like star players who are paid like star players?
How many more times are we going to look at the box score after a game and wonder why supposed impact players make absolutely no impact?
How many more times are we going to ask when this management group is going to act to clean up the mess that has been allowed to permeate for far too long in that Canucks locker room?
How many more times are we going to ask when that same management group is going to do something – anything – to address the mistakes it made constructing this team’s flawed blueline?
How many more times are we going to ask where the offence has gone? And while we’re at it, the shots and the scoring chances, too?
How many more times are we going to wonder why the power play spends almost all of its time passing the puck around the perimeter?
How many more times are we going to wonder what’s happened to Nils Höglander? Or Danton Heinen? Or Pius Suter, for that matter?
How many more times are we going to ask if Thatcher Demko is going to be able to get back to anything close to his Vezina finalist form?
How many times will we wonder how teammates can watch Quinn Hughes compete on a nightly basis and can’t find it within themselves to give their best efforts?
How many more times are we going to bring up the fact the club has just eight home ice wins in late January?
How many more times are we going to ask if there is an opponent out there that fears the Canucks in any way?
How many times will we ask if this team plans to respond to yet another poor performance?
How many more times will we wonder how this season of such promise is now headed for the ditch?
How many more times will we ask why this organization simply can’t get out of its own way?
The questions are getting old. It would be nice if someone in charge could come up with even a few answers.
