Jeremy Colliton joins the show to preview the AHL season and discusses Vasily Podkolzin’s role & Jeff Paterson talks about the Canucks 8-1 victory: Canucks Conversation

1 month agoOn today’s episode of Canucks Conversation, Chris Faber (yes, that’s me) looks back at the Vancouver Canucks’ dominant 8-1 win over the Edmonton Oilers and focuses on Brock Boeser’s four goals in the season opener as well as the strong defensive play by the Canucks as they adjust to the Rick Tocchet structure era.
I am joined by Jeff Paterson of Rink Wide to chat about the game at Rogers Arena on Wednesday night and we discuss some of the things we liked from Wednesday night’s game and how Pius Suter and Filip Hronek were two players who may not have had a ton of points in the game but were excellent in their roles.
Then, we were joined by Abbotsford Canucks head coach Jeremy Colliton to chat about the upcoming AHL season — which kicks off on Friday as Abbotsford is in Laval to battle with the Rocket. You can watch the Abbotsford game for free on AHLTV this weekend and the game time will be 4:00 PM PST.

Colliton spoke about the evolution of Danila Klimovich and whether expectations are different for him now in his third AHL season. He also talked about Vasily Podkolzin getting a lot of ice time and I also asked if Podkolzin may see some time at centre this season.
Throughout the season, we will be spending a lot of our Thursdays talking about the Abbotsford Canucks as they play so many of their games on the weekends. Thursdays on Canucks Conversation will have a segment of the show dedicated to what’s going on down on the farm with the AHLNucks.
You can catch the livestream of Canucks Conversation at 1:30 PM Pacific Time Monday through Friday (with Wednesday’s shows being at 1:00 PM) on the CanucksArmy YouTube channel and the CanucksArmy Twitter account here.
