This has been in the works for sometime now, and I’m stoked to finally be officially announcing that I’m joining the CanucksArmy team. For those that don’t know me, I’ve been covering the Canucks for about a year now with the brunt of my work running on The Canuck Way.
I was a disgruntled University student studying English in hopes of becoming a teacher, but after a few bad experiences up at, I decided to try my hand at making my way in an industry that I’ve been told is one of the hardest in the world to break into.
Back in December of 2018, I reached out to Canucks Army’s very own Chris Faber, who was a contributor at The Canuck Way at the time, and asked if he knew how I could get started writing about the team. He pointed me in the right direction, and after about two months as a contributor, I was promoted to the co-Site Editor role back in February when the position opened up.
You’ll still find the majority of my work on The Canuck Way, but it’s so exciting to be joining a site with the reputation of Canucks Army. There have been many great writers here before me, so to just be writing on this site is a huge honour.
I’m also a beat writer for the BCHL Network, where I cover the Coquitlam Express. This means you can also look forward to me bringing you some prospect content around some of the best players in the BCHL who are eligible for the upcoming draft! I know there’s a big name coming to Coquitlam in a few weeks, and I’m looking forward to watching him play live!
I also just recently was selected by Kat Botchford to be the first to participate in the Botchford Project initiative, honouring the legacy of the late Jason Botchford. It was a humbling experience to hear Kat say that my writing style and passion reminded her of a young Jason, and the whole experience was a dream come true. I wrote an article for Canucks.com as part of the Botchford Project, and got to meet many people in and around the Canucks, all of whom welcomed me with open arms and made the experience truly remarkable.
You can expect to see me go into some deep dives on certain players, and a lots of editorial content. Maybe 77 reasons the Canucks should call up Nikolay Goldobin? I know Faber would love that one! I’m looking forward to sharing everything I have in store with you all.
