Horvat, Demko, Motte and more added to Vancouver Canucks’ COVID-19 protocol list
As was expected, the Vancouver Canucks now have even more players sidelined by COVID-19.
The daily update came this afternoon, bringing the Canucks’ total number of players on the NHL’s protocol list to 14:
Added to the list today are Tyler Motte, Bo Horvat, Thatcher Demko, Travis Boyd, Jayce Hawryluk, Tyler Myers, and Brandon Sutter.
Reports from TSN’s Darren Dreger and Farhan Lalji stated that multiple players have become “very ill” with some instances of team medical staff going to the players’ homes to administer IV treatment.
The Canucks are reportedly being hit hard by the Brazil P.1 variant, which is thought to be more contagious and cause more serious symptoms in younger people.
As per Thomas Drance of The Athletic, no additional support staff have tested positive.
This list still has the potential to grow, and we will certainly keep you updated if any new additions are made to it tomorrow.
