Headshots are a Canucks Army feature where we link to the day’s freshest news, and other assorted Canucks web-goodies. If you’ve written a blogpost, produced a tribute video, birthed a clever .gif into existence, or have a hockey related cause you’d like to see promoted in this space – please e-mail Thom at thom.drance@gmail.com.
As Harrison Mooney writes, as soon as Nolan Baumgartner took the job of Assistant Coach for the Wolves, he became a prospect in the Canucks organization. The craziest part, for me, is that the three-year contract he signed is the longest one he has had since being drafted back in ’94.
Thomas Drance makes his debut on PlayNow Sports, as he discusses how you can apply possession metrics to hockey betting. Take his advice – if you like money.
Cam Charron puts the season Anson Carter had as a Canuck into perspective, and applauds Alex Burrows for being wise enough to realize just how fortunate a position he is in. Before Burrows had signed his extension, I proposed every Canuck participate in a battle royal with the winner joining the Sedin line – assuming he left as a free agent next summer. Now we’ll never get to see that come to fruition.
Image Break! Yesterday, we mentioned that the Canucks released their wallpaper for October, with all of the games missing (even though no regular season games have been cancelled just yet). @GayCanuck misses the real monthly calendar the team usually releases during the season. To help cope, he will be creating a new lockout wallpaper for every month that it goes on. October’s is spot-on, but let’s hope it’s the last one he has to do.

Over at Nucks Misconduct, Jordan Clarke tells the story of how we built up Roberto Luongo, being tearing him down. Who needs The Notebook when you have plots like this?
You don’t happen to have $100 million laying around, do you? According to Bill Daly, that’s exactly what the NHL lost in revenue thanks to the cancelled preseason. I’m no accountant, but that seems like a lot of money.
Finally, our pal @TheStanchion laid waste to the rest of the internet today, when he interviewed Eddie Lack about the fake season he has been conducting in NHL ’13. This is pure gold.
Speaking of Lack, apparently he’s not content with just stopping pucks. It looks like he’s gunning for my job, too, and he’s getting his practice in by blogging at the Canucks’ official website. In this installment, he talks about his fantasy football team, and shares some tidbits from Wolves training camp.
