The OHL rosters for the Subway Super Series were announced today, and two Canucks prospects made the cut. Frankie Corrado and Brendan Gaunce got the call, to take on the Russian National Junior team. Unfortunately for Gaunce, he likely won’t be playing, as news broke that he will be sidelined with a separated shoulder.

Pass it to Bulis updates us on the gift that keeps giving, known as Dale Weise, and his adventures in the Netherlands. He’s currently the only Canuck to be playing overseas – which can obviously be attributed to the fact that he’s the only one that garnered any interest. Obviously. 

If you haven’t read Elliotte Friedman’s latest 30 thoughts, then I have a question for you: why are you reading this, and not that absolute gold mine? As always, it delivered. As did Justin Bourne’s ‘Thoughts on 30 Thoughts‘, where he goes into more depth on the most interesting topics.

As the tweet above suggests, Cory Schneider is contemplating taking a trip overseas to get some hockey in. I’m not necessarily putting too much stock into this, but it is interesting that players who had shown no inclination of jumping ship in the beginning have started to consider it now. Today, Patrick Kane announced that he will be going to Switzerland, joining Tyler Seguin on EHC Biel. If I had a daughter, and lived in Switzerland, I would be seriously considering locking her in the house until the coast was clear.

Over the last little while, Robert Vollman has been doing projections for players using statistical projection systems. And they have been must-reads. Well, today he published his projections for the Canucks forwards. There are some incredibly thought-provoking points in there, especially the historical comparisons.

Tyson Giuriato provides us with insight on the Friday that the Chicago Wolves just went through, with 24/7 style access to the team. The entire weekend must have been quite the experience for the youngsters on the team.
