Zack Kassian impressed in Abbotsford this past weekend.
Headshots are a Canucks Army feature where we link to the day’s freshest news, and other assorted Canucks web-goodies. If you’ve written a blogpost, produced a tribute video, birthed a clever .gif into existence, or have a hockey related cause you’d like to see promoted in this space – please e-mail Thom at thom.drance@gmail.com.
With the Chicago Wolves in town, there’s lots of Wolves content to round up today. Here’s Botchford’s take on how Canucks prospects performed. Daniel Wagner broke down both games in detail here and here. Meanwhile Brad Zeimer wrote that Jordan Schroeder was "over-shadowed" by some of the Canucks’ other prospect assets. Was he ever.
Acquiring an expensive defenseman coming off of an injury from the Florida Panthers, ostensibly to play top-four minutes… What can go wrong?
Over at Nucksmisconduct, our pal Kent Basky has some tough words for the NHL regarding the ongoing NHL lockout.
Video Break: Zack Kassian scored a beauty in the shootout to seal the game for the Wolves. Cody Whodgson?
Roberto Luongo will be in Vancouver this weekend to play poker at River Rock casino. We’re still awaiting confirmation regarding the rumour that he’s also going to open for Howie Mandel.
It’s former Canucks rearguard Scott Lachance’s birthday today! Also a slow news day, but you knew that.
The Stanchion is making it big covering fake hockey. Here’s the latest on that over at the Province. It’s funny that people are only realizing it, but I’ve been calling Wyatt a "fake hockey blogger" since his SBN days!
Finally in lockout news, everyone seems to think this is a "big week" in negotiations – but it’s not. The next big pressure point is in mid-November before the cancellation of the Winter Classic. So don’t get too worked up this week, you’ll just be setting yourself up for disappointment.
