Massachusetts native Cory Schneider will pay tribute to those hurt during the Boston marathon bombings tonight…

Today at Canucks Army we recapped Monday night’s 5-2 Canucks victory over the Nashville Predators, previewed Tuesday night’s contest against the St. Louis Blues, advocated for Christian Ehrhoff to get some Norris buzz and looked at whether or not Ryan Kesler "fixes" Vancouver’s power-play issues.
We’re going to do this briefly today since puck drop in the Blues game happens shortly, but read past the jump for more.
Cory Schneider will be playing with a heavy heart tonight, in the wake of the tragedy that rocked his hometown of Boston. Great stuff from Botchford on the subject, including stories of Cory Schneider handing out beer to marathoners at more innocent marathons in the past. [The White Towel]
The Canucks were reportedly interested in signing Antoine Laginiere, but the heavily recruited Yale forward chose Orange County instead.
Also according to Elliotte Friedman, the Canucks narrowly lost out on Quinnipac goaltender Eric Hartzell. Mike Gillis and the Canucks are the Petty and Selma of signing college free agents: forever bridesmaids. [CBC]
Harrison Mooney breaks down Derek Roy’s first goal as a Canucks skater. [Pass it to Bulis]
Bure’s Triple Deke notes that Henrik Sedin has now moved into 73rd on the "all time assists" leaderboard, supplanting Michel Goulet. They profile Goulet, as well as a handful of other players who Henrik has moved past on the list this season. [Bure’s Triple Deke]
Did Alex Edler get away with a headshot against the Nashville Predators? I would learn towards: no. [Pass it to Bulis]
J. D. Burke was excited to see the power-play find some legs and Roberto Luongo crushing it in Monday night’s win. [We’ve Got Twins]
Tony Gallagher continues to push the myth that Alain Vigneault doesn’t trust any young players no matter what. This time he writes that it’s unlikely that Vigneault would trust a green rookie right-handed defenseman in a big game, even though Alain Vigneault gave Chris Tanev a whole lot of playing time in the Stanley Cup Final less than two years ago. [The Province]
Tom Sestito will dress for the Canucks this evening against the Blues, Kevin Bieksa will sit which I’m not particularly surprised about. He looked banged up against the Predators on Monday. [Vancouver Sun]
