What To Watch For
> Sedins Vs. Crosby: May as well play this game, but with Henrik and Crosby on the same ice, it’s worth a look at where they stand now: Crosby has 28 pts (tied for #1 in the league), Henrik has 23. The goal differential is stark (Hank has two, Crosby has 12) but the assists tilt back in Sedin’s favor (21 to 16). On the goal front it’s actually Daniel who is actually tied with Sedin and has one more PPG; both Sedins have 1 GWG whereas Crosby has none. So…it’s good to have a twin right?
> Kill! Kill! Kill!: Both teams can pruodly deploy top PK units, but since Vancouver holds the edge on the PP, expect the Pens kill to be put the test tonight. Plan on the Sedins, Kesler, Edler and Ehrhoff seeing plenty of Craig Adams, Max Talbot, Pascal Dupuis and former-Canuck Matt Cooke. For Vancouver, they will welcome Keith Ballard back into the mix (presumably at Aaron Rome’s expense) and he should help round out their PK unit as well.
> A quick history lesson: The last time Vancouver was in Pittsburgh – back in 2008 – saw Cooke and Hansen get tossed in the opening minutes, Burrows and Oprik fighting and Luongo’s dreaded groin injury that knocked him out for a chunk of the regular season. They did get the 3-1 win though so perhaps this time around more of the latter and less of the former?
