CanucksArmy THE PLAYOFF GAMEDAY G7: Canucks Vs. Golden Knights
By Always90four
3 years agoTHE INTRO
There is no better feeling than a Game 7. It’s a one-game, winner takes all matchup. Forget what you know about the other six, this is the spotlight. The mountain seemed too high to climb but the Canucks continued to play a very solid team game and backed up their stellar goaltending with a few timely goals and they didn’t crack under pressure.
Vegas has to be second-guessing themselves a bit after they let the Canucks back into the series and living rent-free in someone’s head is a beautiful thing.
The Canucks are ONE…WIN…AWAY from the Western Conference Final. It couldn’t be more exciting/stressful/amazing.

Can’t change anything now. It either works or it doesn’t.
Unless Thatcher Demko’s legs fall off or he misses his alarm, it’s his net tonight. No doubt he’s tired after stopping 90 of 91 saves in his last two games and he put on a clinic less than 24 hours ago.

Again, if you’re Pete DeBoer, do you make any adjustments? Maybe a bit of a line juggle, but it’s all or nothing tonight. They either put the dagger in or go home.
Robin Lehner or Marc-Andre Fleury? Fleury has faired well in his career but he’s 4-4 in Game 7’s so what version would you get? We’ll know in a few hours.

GAME NOTES, STATS, AND GAME 7 BABY!
- Bo Horvat now leads the NHL playoffs with 10 goals. Bo Horvat, everyone. Not Elias Pettersson, not Nathan McKinnon, not even Brandon Sutter. Captain Bo is getting it done and he has clearly made a name for himself and the rest of the league is now on notice.
- Thatcher Demko has to be tired a bit but he also hasn’t played in months so he’s making up for lost time. We aren’t going to bore you with the stats everyone else has posted so we’ll give you a random one: Demko has zero head saves this round. His mask hasn’t been forced to make a save so far.
- Quinn Hughes looked relentless in Game 6 and his defensive game has stepped up in the last few matchups. There are players on the Canucks that do not have a quit mode inside of them. Is there anything Hughes can’t do? What will he do in Game 7?
- Alex Edler and Chris Tanev are playing some lights-out defence right now. Their blocked shots are dominating the playoffs and there isn’t enough ice in the world to keep their legs at bay.
- Vancouver needs to seriously stop bleeding shots, it’s getting embarrassing. Thatcher Demko is great and all but he is human. Keep your head up, Canucks.
- Game 7 baby, nothing like it!

MY 94 CENTS
Game 7’s truly are the best. The Canucks have just continued to do the unthinkable and they’re a win away from a series they’ve only been in three times in their history.
What is this current Canucks team doing, seriously? The script had this team possibly making the playoffs, worrying about if the J.T. Miller trade would cost them a first-round pick next season or the season after, and on and on and on. I don’t get it anymore. The Bubble™ has changed everything and honestly, why not this team?
Why can’t the Canucks win tonight? Nothing else makes sense anymore. It’s been such a wild ride already, why not turn it up to 11?
AND ANOTHER THING…
Tyler Myers had a breakaway last night and we should never forget that.
