The Canucks beat the Chicago Blackhawks 5-1 yesterday in their own building. Whether you’re on #TeamTank or not, I’m sure it was a nice break from the constant losing. Before that game, the Canucks had lost seven straight.

Now the only question is this: how many wins do the Canucks have left in them before the season reaches its grim end. If you asked me a handful of games ago, I’m not sure I could pick out more than one game. All of a sudden they’re beating the Blackhawks on the road and I’m wondering if the CanucksArmy staff is ripe with optimism — it’s what we’re known for, after all.

With that, let’s get their feedback on the state of the Canucks final few games of the season.

One. St. Louis is fighting for their playoff lives, Anaheim has the best goaltending tandem in the league (one of which would shut Vancouver out just for the karmic poetry), Columbus And Vegas are both clear postseason threats, and Arizona is the fifth best team in the league over the last two months.

Dallas and Edmonton really are anyone’s game, but I can’t see Vancouver pulling off more than one win out of those three contests. And really, why would they want to? If they absolutely let off the brakes here at the end, there’s a very real chance they guarantee themselves a top-five draft pick no matter what happens with the lottery. And given what their blue line has looked like this year, that first overall pick is something they sorely need.

I will go with two. I think they will beat Dallas and that they will come up with a surprise win over Vegas…in the shootout. :grimacing:

I figured there was a remote chance they took both Edmonton games somehow. Didn’t think they’d get the Hawks win so that throws my algorithm way outta wack. I feel they have one win left in them. The Columbus game is going to be a stinker, we will not enjoy that.

Frankly, I’m not sure if I feel that much better about the Canucks now than I did a week or two ago. There’s just not a lot there. This is a team that’s just injured and beaten down by the constant losing and it reflects in the on-ice product more often than not.

I think the Canucks best chances for wins down the stretch are against the Vegas Golden Knights, who might be resting their best players for the playoffs, or against the Edmonton Oilers in the final game of the season so that if it is the Sedins’ last game then they get to go out winning in front of the Vancouver faithful.
