Canucks: Travis Hamonic is in Vancouver and will report to Abbotsford
Travis Hamonic is in Vancouver and will report to the Abbotsford Canucks, announced general manager Jim Benning.
The club put out the following statement late Tuesday afternoon:
Hamonic did not report to training camp despite Benning saying that he expected Hamonic to be there just a day before camp began.
The reason for Hamonic’s absence hasn’t been made clear. The club has called it “personal reasons” and hasn’t offered any further information.
The entirety of Hamonic’s $3 million cap hit will be back on the Canucks’ books this season when the club calls him up from Abbotsford.
More to come.
