The Canucks had three draft picks in the the sixth round of the 2019 NHL Draft. The team selected Latvian goaltender Arturs Silovs with the 156th overall selection, overage forward Karel Plasek with the 175th overall pick and forward Jack Malone with the 180th overall selection.

Arturs Silovs, G

Silovs wasn’t on the NHL’s Central Scouting Service lists this year, but he made a name for himself with a strong showing at the U18 Worlds. Silovs is an athletic 6’4″ Latvian netminder who posted a .918 save percentage for his country at the tournament. After playing in the top Latvian league and the MHL (Russia) last season, Silovs will be heading to the CHL in 2019-20. He’s a nice gamble in the sixth round.
