With two games in the books for the Canucks pre-season, they made further cuts to their roster:
The full press release is as follows:
Vancouver, B.C. – Vancouver Canucks General Manager Jim Benning announced today that the Canucks have reduced their pre-season roster by four players.
The following players have been released from their respective tryout contracts and will attend the Utica Comets Training Camp:
  • Carter Bancks, Left Wing
  • Jesse Graham, Defenceman
  • Jagger Dirk, Defenceman
The following player has been assigned to his junior club:
  • Michael DiPietro, Goaltender, Windsor Spitfires
None of the cuts are surprising in the slightest as Bancks, Graham, and Dirk were destined to be released and assigned to Utica. DiPietro saw some game action last night against the Flames and didn’t allow a goal in the final period of action.
DiPietro should be making his way back to Vancouver this winter though, as he is the odds-on favourite to start for Canada at the World Juniors.
The Canucks play the LA Kings at 7:00 PM tonight.
