The big day is nearly here. The 2017 NHL Entry Draft kicks off tomorrow night, and we couldn’t be more excited. We’ve been preparing for this for months, and the fruits of our labour are all here on display for you. In this article, you’ll find our Final Top 100 rankings for the 2017 draft, complete with some basic information about the prospects, as well as a run down of some of the draft analytics we applied to those players, including SEAL adjusted scoring and pGPS.
As a side note regarding pGPS, you might notice that some of the numbers are different than those displayed in the individual profiles. Part of this is because I’ve updated all of the heights followed those reported at the NHL Combine (and some of them were way off, especially among the vertically challenged crowd). I’ve also rejigged the formula a little bit for a tiny bit more leniency with respect to the height boundaries of cohorts, affording slightly larger sample sizes. By and large, the vast majority of prospects on the list have values that are very similar to what they were before.
I’ve organized our entire giant list into one convenient table for you to scroll through on draft day for quick reference. Then, when you need to dive a little deeper, you’ll find that linked to the name of each player is our full profile from our Top 100 series.

Regarding the data omissions: there is obviously no SEAL adjusted scoring for goaltenders, and unfortunately we don’t have a cohort model for goalies up and running yet either. As for the skaters, SEAL covers the CHL, USHL, NCAA, SHL, Allsvenskan and Czech Extraliga, but misses Liiga, Russian leagues, and Junior A leagues. pGPS includes Liiga, the KHL and the AJHL, but doesn’t cover the VHL at this point, which is why there’s nothing for Alexei Lipanov.
