Canucks Army Roundtable: Rooting Interests
The playoffs are upon us, and if you haven’t noticed the Canucks didn’t qualify. That doesn’t mean you won’t watch still though, so I asked our writers who they are cheering for this postseason. Who are you cheering for?
Question: Who are you cheering for in the playoffs?

The Habs or Blues are my personal picks, but you obviously can’t go wrong with the Sharks or Senators. I’d love to see Burrows or Hansen win the Cup after everything they’ve been through.

I would love to see someone like PK Subban or Alex Ovechkin win their first cup, but the Canucks getting that first round pick from the Sharks would also be nice!
Jackson McDonald
There are positives to any number of teams winning. There’s AV in New York, Burrows in Ottawa, and the prospect of seeing a superstar like Ovi or Subban lift their first cup.
My personal pick is the Sharks, not only because of the first round pick but also because Hansen was my favourite player as a teenager. To be honest, though, I’d really just like to see a new team win. No Chicago and no Pittsburgh.

For me, it’s an easy choice. Even before I lived in Montreal, les Habs were always my secondary team (after the Canucks). My love of the city has only strengthened that bond. When the Canucks aren’t in the playoffs, I’m all in on Montreal. That said, I do think New York is the better team in that particular first round matchup. I’ll also be cheering for Alex Burrows and Jannik Hansen with the Sens and Sharks, respectively. Especially if the Sharks can net the Canucks another first round pick.

The blues. After that first game I don’t know why but I think they’d be a fun team to cheer for for a few months. Plus Tony X likes them
Tyler Horsfall
Nashville Predators because PK Subban and the Super Swedes on the team

For me, I’d love to see Washington win so Ovi could finally hoist the cup. But honestly, I’m in the same boat as Jackson, I just don’t want to see Chicago or Pittsburgh win again, I want some new hands on that cup.
